CALL FOR ABSTRACTS AND NATIONAL REPORTS

 

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

 

The organising committee invites you to contribute a topic in accordance with main conference themes. The scientific committee will select the most relevant contributions related to the session themes for oral presentations. The rest will be presented as posters.

 

Deadline for Abstracts and WG 1 member countries’ reports

The abstracts should be sent by 1st June. Participants will be informed whether they have been invited to give oral or poster presentations in the 2nd circular. Please send the abstracts and/or reports by e-mail to branka.hlad@gov.si

 

The format of abstracts and reports

Format of abstracts:

·         Title of abstract

·         Topic of your abstract

·         Proposed session by the author

·         Full names and addresses of author(s), including the address, phone and e-mail address of the contact author

·         The abstract should be a maximum of 5000 characters with spaces or 2 pages A4 (Times New Roman, 12 pt., paragraph 1,5 line spacing), including the illustrations

·         Illustrations if any should be sent separately as raw data (in format jpg or tif, at least 300 dpi)

 

Format of the reports for WG 1 member countries:

A.     Key in-country activities undertaken in 2006 (specify whether activities were relevant for ProGEO and WG 1 or of national importance only)

  • Improvements in the field of geological heritage protection on national and regional level in 2006
  • Geoconservation legislation news in 2006 (protection, planning, site management, documentation)
  • Public understanding of science programmes and projects (state also the main target groups) in 2006
  • Geoparks activities and initiatives in 2006
  • National ProGEO committees (members, activities, statements or other outputs)

B.     Key issues to be addressed and key lessons learned (to be shared with others), key success and failure factors

C.    Ideas and suggestions for the WG 1 future working priorities and common projects (general and concrete specified objectives as reflections of key issues and use of different conservation and interpretative mechanisms)

 

The Length of a report should be no longer than 4 pages A4 (New Times Roman, pt 12 and 1,5 lines spacing).

Regional Conference publications will include.

·         Book of conference abstracts and ProGEO WG 1 member countries reports.

·         Excursion guide.
